A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby includes a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All were part of the benefit event, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of music creators. The song blends a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The team running the initiative have stated that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a figure said. “We aim for whatever we can get. Obviously, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a few million won't make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
