According to new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a commutation application for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to the President, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
